Chemistry Blows!

Hi folks,
This will be the last update until I’m done taking my chemistry final, which is next Thursday. It’s all or nothing for me now since I already failed all the quizzes. But any who, there’s some new stuff this time around.
I’ve been teaching myself some CSS and it’s finally making some sense. Here’s a layout I made that fully incorporates CSS within the code scheme; it’s not valid CSS, but the coding works quite well across both Firefox and Internet Explorer. The layout was for a friend of mine, but in the end he decided not to go through with making the website. I don’t have a need for it so feel free to use it. My Stomach… It Hurts…

I think I might have food poisoning. Yesterday at Chilies’, I had this chicken fajita and after that my stomach starting aching. After watching The Dark Knight my head started pounding like crazy, it was a really good movie by the way, and it hasn’t gotten any better since.
Anyways, I failed another chemistry quiz again. But on the bright side, if I manage to get a D average on it overall, I should be able to pass the class with a solid C. So it’s all good, hopefully. =/
Yeah, there’s not much site related this time around. I’m too sick to work on anything and summer school is being a real bitch. If anyone is interested, here’s a concept layout I’m messing around with. It’s still a work in progress; many things need fixing and what not.

100% Complete!

Well… it's more like 90% completed. So far, everything is uploaded and all the pages are working properly, but there’s hardly any content. You can’t really have a site without any decent content right? I can worry about that stuff later, but for now I’m just glad everything is up and running.
The first thing that you probably noticed is the new ProtoWhale banner. Yep, it actually relates to the concept of the site. That fruity cloud banner wasn’t really doing it for me. I mean, it didn’t even make any sense. Clouds? Huh? Any who, this new banner looks rather decent; it’s not bad nor is it great and I couldn’t really have finished it without the help from my friend Sean, so if you’re reading this thanks. Speaking of concept, here were two early ones for the banner. To the left is well a whale with a pencil and to the right is some wrack kid riding a flying skateboard. In the end, both were used the site. Um, the whale was use for the banner and the kid was used for the about page I believed.
And speaking of the about me page, it’s finally done! At the moment, there’s hardly any info so hopefully ProtoWhale survives long enough to actually have some meaningful stuff.
Oh, did you know that other sites gave out awards? I sure didn’t. So when I found out, I thought that it would cool to apply for some, thus far ProtoWhale received two! Think one is like a lovely site award and the other is a daydream site award. No clue what they mean, but none the least it’s an honor to receive them.
 
Lastly since there’s a lack of content, I made an avatar and a signature. Well it’s more like taking the ProtoWhale banner and resizing it down. It’s not much, but it’s something…
 
And as for any future plans, I’m guessing probably more tutorials and possibly some layouts. I gotta get better at my coding skills, and what better way to practice then by making some random digital stuff.

Here’s the rough sketch of the banner. I was bored in my chemistry class so to kill time I started doodling. I mean 90 minutes sure is a long time, and my professor is pretty much talking to a half-awake class. And somehow I manage to pull off a B on my midterm, man there must be a god or something. But I have a feeling I’m still gonna fail.
Oh yeah, ProtoWhale has a new affiliate, Kaleidoscope. This is a cool site, everything there is like all original and hand-drawn. It’s just awesome so give Kaleidoscope a quick click or two.
